Leiomyosarcoma of small intestine

Abstract

|
|
A 53year old male was admitted with complaints of generalized abdominal pain and distention with fever elevation for 2 days on November 14,1967. Upon laparotomy, much peritoneal effusion and mild intestinal adhesion with larger rupture of small intestine (jejunum) was found. Adjacent intestinal wall was indurated and edematous about 10cm in length with multiple mesenteric lymphnodes swelling. Wide resection of affected jejunal loop with mesenteric lymphnodes dissection was performed. Postoperative patohistological diagnosis was leiomyosarcoma of small intestine and the patient was expired 3 months later with generalized metastases.
